Maeve Plouffe will line up for this year’s TDU women’s race.
A year on from working as a podium assistant during the Tour Down Under, South Australian teenager Maeve Plouffe is making her debut as a competitor. The 18-year-old cyclist said she was excited at the prospect of racing in the women’s event at this month’s TDU.”The experience of being a stage assistant last year allowed me to meet and, for the first time, be around the women’s Pro riders in the peloton,” she said.”As a young rider this was really inspiring and gave me the confidence to keep focusing on my goals.”For me this is a race I have watched ever since I was a junior and it was something I have always aspired to do.”

A year ago, the TDU stopped using models during podium presentations and gave the roles to junior cycling champions, including Plouffe. This year she will be among the youngest riders in the competition, racing as part of the Institute of Sport team from Tasmania, where just days ago she took out the prestigious Burnie Wheelrace.”To be able to race at this level at home, in front of my family and friends, is an amazing opportunity,” she said.”The past 12 months have seen me travel internationally and around Australia to compete.”It is finally nice to be able to compete on the roads that I have trained on my whole life.”SA Sport Minister Leon Bignell described the teenager as a shining example of why the Adelaide race organisers decided to replace podium girls with junior cyclists.”Last year Maeve was one of our stage assistants and this year she’ll be out riding with the professionals. It’s a terrific result for Maeve and the Tour Down Under,” he said.”Maeve is a fantastic local young gun of cycling and I’m sure the experience of seeing the race up close and personal last year will help to make some of the nerves and preparations which come with a professional race a little bit easier.”

He said he hoped other cycling events around the world would follow South Australia’s lead on podium presentation changes. The Italians have ruled out such a change but the Spanish say they are prepared to consider it.

Handlers at Australia Zoo threw a party for Lawson’s 16th birthday. “As a young koala Lawson was always really relaxed, but as he’s aged he’s become a little more set in his ways so he does prefer to have the standard routine day to day.”Once he gets that leaf that’s the happiest he can be.”Koala lifespan can double in captivityAt 16, Lawson is considered to be in his twilight years.”I think you’d say he was in his late 80s compared to a human,” Ms Cole said.Koalas in the wild live for between 10 and 12 years. (Supplied: Australia Zoo)
Ms Cole, who is now the zoo’s curator and operations manager, said Lawson celebrated his 16th birthday surrounded by his closest handlers.”We threw him a little bit of a party, offered him some really yummy leaf species to eat and just gave him a lot more attention just to celebrate the occasion. “We have had female koalas that have lived up into their 20s and we’ve had a male koala that’s lived to the age of 19,” Ms Cole said. Last year the World Wildlife Foundation warned koala populations were at risk of being wiped out in Queensland and New South Wales if bushland clearing continued. The koala is listed as vulnerable in Queensland, NSW and the ACT.Ms Cole said Australia Zoo still followed the conservation philosophy of its founder Steve Irwin. (Supplied: Australia Zoo)
“With the way that [Lawson] is going at the moment, we feel pretty confident that he’s still got a few good years left in him.”For his age he is in exceptional condition.” Comfortable retirement for conservation warriorsDespite living on his own and valuing a stable routine in his old age, Lawson still accompanies his handlers out into the park every now and again to help them spread messages about koala conservation. Lawson the koala has just celebrated his sweet 16 but he’s no spring chicken. The native marsupial has already lived a longer life than many in the wild could ever hope for.He was born in captivity at Australia Zoo in 2002, the same year his first handler Amanda Cole started caring for native marsupials at the wildlife park.”I started at the zoo when Lawson was just a newborn joey in his mum’s pouch, so I was able to watch that development with him and his mum and participate with his handling and training as he grew up,” she said.”I’ve got a real soft spot for this guy.”Lawson spent his youth cuddling tourists to spread awareness about koala conservation, but these days he lives a relaxed, semi-retired life in his “bachelor pad” enclosure. “Steve always believed if you can get people up close and personal with animals, they’d fall in love with them and therefore they’d want to save them,” she said.”There would be a huge number of people that Lawson connected with and had them walk away feeling a little bit different about Australian native wildlife.”Handlers make sure koalas finishing their conservation work and entering retirement have a comfortable life, including pre-mashing their food and rearranging their enclosures.”One of the biggest things that we notice with our aged koalas is tooth wear, so that’s probably the biggest issue they face,” Ms Cole said.”And because of this tooth wear it makes it a little bit challenging at times to effectively grind up that really heavy leaf that they eat every day.”If required, we’ll actually give them a leaf paste supplement and that just aids in maintaining that really good body condition as they age.” Without facing the threat of predators or food scarcity, koalas raised in captivity can survive for another decade.Port Macquarie’s Koala Hospital claims to hold the world record for the oldest-living koala with Birthday Girl, a 25-year-old female koala that died in 2011.However the Guinness World Records website lists 23-year-old Sarah — who died at Queensland’s Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in 2001 — as the oldest in captivity.

“The river’s been up and down, so people can’t move out of the community,” Ms Trimble said.”We’re very bound by the weather here, so once you can’t get out there’s not many places to go.”

Unique curriculum promotes communityAs well as its unusual co-principal model, in which Ms Djayhgurrnga provides a direct link to the community on the school grounds, the school is eager to emphasise continuity within its staff, adding just one new teacher to its stable for this year. The teachers were welcomed back with a smoking ceremony at the unusual return-to-work date of 3:00pm on Sunday.”And then yesterday staff worked together on preparation for the year,” Ms Trimble said.”We’re looking forward to lots of different things we’ll be trying this year.”

Photo:
Co-principal Sue Trimble (right) anticipates strong attendance rates at the Gunbalanya School. The buses are out,” co-principal Sue Trimble told ABC Radio Darwin’s Richard Margetson down a phone line with music co-written by her students thrumming along in the background.”Music is playing, so there’s sort of a sense of excitement.”In 2012, consultation with the community of Gunbalanya — a billabong-girt town of about 1,200 people perched on the north-eastern edge of Kakadu National Park — led the school there to trial a more flexible calendar.”We could see that in the early part of the year most kids were at school, and around the second half of the year most kids were out of the community,” Ms Trimble said at the time. She and her co-principal Esther Djayhgurrnga mapped out fluctuations in school attendance according to significant Indigenous dates and worked backwards from there. This means students have six weeks off during the dry season to honour cultural commitments before returning to school, usually some time in August.Six years later, Ms Trimble is optimistic this flexibility has helped them reverse the Northern Territory’s notoriously poor rates of school attendance.”We’re expecting very good attendance today — everyone’s always very excited when the new year starts with a fresh beginning.”They eagerly come.” Stuck around and raring to goThe school’s end-of-year break spans just three typically very wet weeks at the beginning of the Top End’s monsoon season.Although the break is shorter, Ms Trimble said the lack of school holiday options made everyone keen to return. (Supplied: Gunbalanya School)
Teachers also travel to nearby homelands to deliver classes without removing students from their homes. Students can select two separate pathways through the education system. One offers work-ready qualifications such a driver’s licence and CERT qualifications, while the other leads to a Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training. In the classrooms, the curriculum places emphasis on easy transitions to work and partnerships within community groups; the nearby meatworks and local ranger groups among them.”So through a partnership with the rangers, we have a teacher and we have two rangers working with children every day, learning on country and then coming back,” Ms Trimble said. Walking in two worlds The 13-year-old who left Gunbalanya to pursue his dreams of becoming a Kakadu ranger. The first school drop-off of 2018 in the Northern Territory — and possibly Australia — has taken place as busloads of children returned for day one in the community of Gunbalanya, also known as Oenpelli.”The canteen’s open cooking breakfast. “I think everyone’s very eager to get back to school and meet the new teachers and see what’s happening,” she said.”They’ve been stuck around community for three weeks and they’re raring to go.”The co-principals’ research found that most students would be in the community and therefore able to attend school during the wet season, when monsoon-induced flooding cuts off surrounding roads.Earlier this week, a police officer had to be rescued when his car was washed off a causeway 80 kilometres east of the Gunbalanya.

Hard toil in Perth’s poor soil is bearing rare fruit

“I was a standard workaholic, eating terrible junk food and supermarket microwave stuff and I knew that my diet was terrible.”He and his wife had once owned a property in north Queensland that had an avocado tree. He had retired and decided to live a healthier lifestyle. Photo:
A grumichama, sometimes called Brazil cherry, is just one of the rare trees in Mr Madsen’s garden. “Here in Perth we have some of the poorest soil in the world.”But it can be surmounted provided you cater for their special needs.”It is amazing what you can get to grow here.”Mr Madsen has built up the soil in his garden with large doses of compost. There, they got used to not having to pay for their daily fix. His annual harvest is enormous. “Most people would think in a backyard you could put five trees,” he said.”But you’re in charge. Photo:
Barry Madsen gets around 80kg of pawpaw fruit a year from his trees and is determined to not waste any. (ABC Radio Perth: Emma Wynne)
Getting advice on how to source and grow exotic species is where the Rare Fruit Club comes in.It has around 100 members and they meet regularly at each other’s properties, giving them a chance to see and taste what others are growing. (ABC Radio Perth: Emma Wynne)
Members can sometimes take a cutting of a rare plant that would otherwise be almost impossible to buy. Barry Madsen’s suburban Perth home is barely visible from the street. That’s because the rich garden that wraps around his house boasts more than 50 rare fruit and nut trees; a look that certainly sets him apart from his neighbours.”In the western suburbs, almost every blade of grass is trimmed to the right level; it looks beautiful but it does nothing,” Mr Madsen said. He also keeps his trees well enough watered. And now he has more fruit than he could ever eat. Overcoming Perth’s lack of rain and sandy soilsWhile southern Western Australia’s hot, dry summers, its sandy, infertile soils and strict quarantine laws that prevent importing tropical plants from interstate are all challenges, creating an exotic orchard at home is possible, according to Mr Madsen. (ABC Radio Perth: Emma Wynne)
It started 10 years ago. For example, he picks around 80 kilograms of pawpaw every year and almost always has an oversupply of avocadoes. He is determined to not let anything go to waste, so he has also built a large fruit preservation operation at home.”I have dryers and canners and all sorts of things. That’s what we have to do with our fruit trees, is get control.” (ABC Radio Perth: Emma Wynne)
Mr Madsen now has more than 50 trees and vines, growing everything from avocadoes and figs to feijoas, a chocolate pudding fruit and carob pods. That is not on.”

Photo:
A juvenile dragon fruit resembles a cactus and grows over a trestle at Mr Madsen’s home. From your own experience, have you got any tips for growing an edible garden? (ABC Radio Perth: Emma Wynne)
Return on investmentIf a tree doesn’t perform for Mr Madsen, it gets the chop to make space for something new.”I just pulled out a great big plum tree I’d had for seven years,” he said.”I was getting plums but it was taking up a big space and I just didn’t think I was getting a return for it.”Mr Madsen said you didn’t need a lot of space or a big backyard to get involved in growing rare fruit. He has squeezed in a tree tomato along a narrow path beside his house and a passionfruit vine by the washing line. “Having spent all this time and TLC to generate this stuff, you can’t waste it. then you meet a few other enthusiasts and you taste something they’ve grown and think, ‘Wow, I’ve got to have one of those’.”

Photo:
The flower of the Saba nut, which is thought to come from South America. “It reaches out to people out there that are battling on alone,” Mr Madsen said.Waste not, want notMr Madsen’s garden has been planted with a mix of varieties and species to ensure he gets ripe fruit of some kind almost all year round. So Mr Madsen decided to have a crack at growing avocadoes at his home in Perth.”Once you get involved in this you get addicted. Join the discussion in the comments. “You start of thinking you’ll grow an avocado tree … “My garden I call an edible, working garden — it’s not meant to be pretty.”Mr Madsen is the president of the Rare Fruit Club of Western Australia, and by his own admission he is just a little bit obsessed. 'You just jump in and do it': Man tells of dramatic rescue of 14yo girl
A nine-year-old boy from a remote Kimberley community could be in line for bravery honours after rescuing his six-year-old cousin from a fast-moving river.Jonathan Till fell into the river from a tree.Adult relatives, who were about 50 metres away, said they started to panic when the young boy started to be swept downstream.Margaret Till said the child’s cousin, Leithan Till, nine, ran along the bank before jumping in to rescue Jonathan.”[Jonathan] was floating down the river and we couldn’t run from where we were sitting because we were so far away,” Ms Till said. She said if Leithan had not taken the initiative, it was likely his young cousin would have been swept away.”He jumped in and pulled him out from the river, and we were all shaking because we were thinking that he was going to drown,” Ms Till said. (Supplied: Katrina Cherel)
Family proud after rescueLeithan’s adoptive mother Katrina Cherel said she was proud of Leithan, whose birth mother was killed in a car crash.”I felt really proud and gave him a hug and told him how proud I am of him,” she said.Ms Cherel said recent swimming lessons at the Fitzroy Crossing pool gave Leithan the confidence to perform the rescue.”When we asked him about [the rescue], he said he learnt about it when they were doing swimming lessons at school,” she said.”They learn how to not panic when they’re drowning.”[Leithan] said he was a bit scared to save him, but having the lessons and knowledge that he learned … he felt brave enough to save his cousin.”Lifesaving lessons worth itRoyal Lifesaving Association WA spokeswoman Lauren Nimmo said the incident highlighted the importance of incorporating lifesaving programs into school curricula. “When [Muludja Remote Community School] book their Swim and Survive lessons it costs them a fortune to transport [students] in and out [of town],” she said. (Supplied: Katrina Cherel)
“We’re pleased to see such a young boy, particularly in such a remote part of WA, using the skills he learnt as part of his swimming and water safety lessons,” she said. The Swim and Survive program is a free program that has been running at Fitzroy Crossing pool since 2009, which teaches children how to swim safely in surrounding waterways.Leithan’s instructor Adele Caporn said news of the rescue highlighted the importance of teaching water safety to young children who attended remote schools. “But at the end of the day, if it’s going to save someone’s life, then what’s money?”Ms Nimmo highlighted the fact that Royal Lifesaving Association WA has a bravery award open to young students, and encouraged those who witnessed the event to nominate the young hero.”It really is an amazing feat, particularly for a boy so young,” she said. Why you always gotta smack a whore? Huh? [Verse 1: 2 Chainz]
(2 Chainz!)
Yeah, yeah
Take ’em to church, I’m talkin’ the tabernacle
It’s the return of the body snatcher
Walk in the spot, make my woman smack ya (Whoo!)
In a fruit fight, I aim at your Adam’s Apple
Pull up in the candy car eatin’ a candy bar
And my girl eatin’ a candy apple
Yuh, I line their ass up, I aim at their Cruiser
All of these stones on my neck, uh
They must have looked at Medusa
Pockets Rasputia of course, I drove some rims to court
I fucked some twins before, I had a Benz before
This is the sin report
This is the murder murder, pass the burner, Em
Your money shorter than an acronym
Big body when I’m backin’ in
Ladi-dadi, got a bunch of bodies, nigga
Fakin’, nigga, human traffickin’ (woo)
I’m on the Act again, this ain’t a accident
King like Ak-ron
I run the trap again, you on the treadmill (treadmill)
Never, Neverland shit came with a Ferris wheel (goddamn)
Ferris day off, baby, AR in the same car
Most of y’all my sons, aww, look at little JR
F-12 same color Kate Moss, ugh, I’m talkin’ wrist in the pot
I’m talkin’ this and you not, I’m talkin’ bricks and you not
I’m talkin’ straight up and down, nigga, like 6 o’clock
This is the equinox, this what the people want
Somebody at the door, I heard the speaker knock, uh

[Chorus: PHresher]
I’m at your throat like Chloraseptic, ‘septic
And you got strep, I’m too complex with, ‘plex with
This shit I wrote is on some next shit, next shit
I’m at your throat, I’m feelin’ reckless, reckless, yeah
[Verse 2: PHresher]
Do me a favor, don’t do me no favors
These bitches got flavors
They all wanna smoke but ain’t doin’ no labor
But they shoppin’ at Raleys, they stingin’ like tasers
Act Hollywood like they play for the Lakers
They fly on the latest
Crocs, alligators, say hi to my haters
Pardon my neighbor, we eatin’
That chicken, lobster, potatoes
You must be sniffin’ that yayo
If you don’t think I’m that nigga
Swagger on 10 since a day old
It’s a-okay though, whippin’ up whip like it’s mayo
Every track is a K.O., fuck nigga, K.O
Go off your head like I’m Ayo
Out of this world, talkin’ NATO
It’s ‘cos of jail, don’t be an A-hole
‘Cause I got shooters that shoot when I say so, like Lord
Wanna be in my shoes, you ain’t paid no dues
Real nigga, you ain’t break no rules
High school, niggas ate your food
Might dumb it down a little, but I ain’t no fool
Niggas hate every day, B (yeah)
Shit is O.C. It’s likely the psychiatric ward’s a last resort
Something’s gotta give, that’s for sure
Yet you keep comin’ back for more
Not as raw as I was, "’Walk on Water’ sucks"
Bitch, suck my dick
Y’all saw the tracklist and had a fit ‘fore you heard it
So you formed your verdict
While you sat with your arms crossed
Did your little reaction videos and talked over songs (Chill!)
Nah, dog, y’all sayin’ I lost it, your fuckin’ marbles are gone
But nowadays, every flow, every cadence sounds the same
Brain’s a powder keg, I draw inspiration outta hate
Real pain in the paper, I don’t trace
But if I look strange and out of place
It’s ’cause I’m an alien, that’s why I write ’til the page is outta space, yeah
From 7 Mile in Novara to "How can I be down?"
All of us tryna pile in the car (yeah!), we shot for the stars, yeah
‘Cause we only got so much time in this world (yeah!)
So rewind it to your high school dance to the night before
If you think you’re promised tomorrow (yeah!)
Now I’m ’bout to fool again
This tune is sick, it’s luminous, the moon is lit
A freakin’ lunatic, a human computer chip
And I’m soon to stick a broom in the uterus of your Hooters chick
If I was you I wouldn’t do nothin’ stupid due to the mood I’m in
I’m losin’ it, you get chewed like a Junior Mint
Show me who to rip, it’s time for you to get screwed
Empty the lubricant and put super glue in it
How many fuckin’ rappers did I go through? What’s with all the conscious rap? P!nk, Beyoncé this and Kehlani that" (yeah)
I just added to the fuel in my rocket pack
‘Til I’m ready to respond, then I’ma launch it at ’em
Idiotic from the fuckin’ embryonic sac
To the bodybag, I’ll be back
And when I am, I’ll be at your fuckin’ throat like—

[Outro: PHresher]
Like Chloraseptic Dispel doubt but you won’t admit I smoked
And you was spellbound, hellbound in my snowsuit
But am I s’posed to sound like everything else out? Time to eat the vocals and shit out Pro Tools
I know you still want me to ill out, don’t you? ‘Cause I don’t get compared to it, only myself now
And I can see the fair-weather fans and sales down
But the only way I care is if I let myself down
But what the fuck have I awoke to? Back and forth, back and forth
Like Jack Kevorkian’s ass to court
Rap mature, why can’t you be like Macklemore? lately (yeah)
Gotta break ’em off with these Dre beats (yeah)
Or I might go crazy (yeah)
These niggas too goddamn lazy
Don’t ever, ever, ever try to play me
Lil’ shawty now comin’ from BK
But I’m tryna come up like JAY-Z
Nothin’ but love from my heart
I feel entitled to titles
Fuck it, man, I want the title
My mission is [?]

[Chorus: PHresher]
I’m at your throat like Chloraseptic, ‘septic
And you got strep, I’m too complex with, ‘plex with
This shit I wrote is on some next shit, next shit
I’m at your throat, I’m feelin’ reckless, reckless, yeah
[Verse 3: Eminem]
Bin Laden with a pen, body it again
I begin slaughterin’ your men, prolly shoulda been
Ali or the Svengali embodiment of sin
Like a Saudi in the Taliban plotting an event
In the lobby of the Intercontinental
With an obvious intent
And I will not even relent up on a little
Like Osama with a bomb under the bin
And down the middle of the Pentagon
And hit a kindergartener with a rental, stop! Hopin’ the old Slim’s gonna spill out, open fire
On your whole camp with this spit I wrote you
So chill out, no, you hoes couldn’t roast me with the shit I wrote you
Then I took a stand, went at Tan-Face
And practically cut my mothafuckin’ fan base in half and still outsold you
You just called my shit trash
Thank God, I rap better when the odds are stacked
"Revival’s wack, I don’t like the ‘Zombie’ track
Or when he’s talkin’ that garbage psychotic crap
Where’s your content at?

¿Tú no cree que yo sé que hablan de mí? (yeh)
Rumbeando y viajando, siempre disfrutando (ehh)

[Outro]
Yeh, yeah, yeeh
Yeh, yeah, yeeh
(Quieren mano pa’ mÍ)
¡Farru! Que me envidian y quieren mano pa’ mí (quieren mano pa’ mí)
Que digan lo que quieran de mí

Que digan lo que quieran de mí
¿Tú no cree que yo sé que hablan de mí?

Cozz – Questions

We don’t think, nigga
Great (woo!)
[Verse]
Yeah, cause I got a lot of questions
I’d rather ask first
I don’t wanna second guess shit
Tell me why these niggas pride is bigger than they work effort
Bad at they struggle, but don’t hustle to earn cheddar
I work, get up early to earn the first letter
A+ effort, I know I deserve better
My nerves messed up, I burn better, the herbs get us
High enough to pluck bird feathers, ice berg lettuce
Gets us so cold we’ll murk niggas
Hold the 44 to your dome, try to search niggas
They gat blow, turn your afro to a perm nigga
I’m sure nigga, but that same nigga that’ll purge with you will turn in your name to the god damn services
But won’t serve witcha’
He gone teach your ass a lesson, but ain’t gon’ learn witcha’
And that’s the reason why that you gon’ have a seasoned mind
Pain builds maturity, don’t you be worried G
I keep a even mind but gotta know the reason why
These niggas ain’t really sure of me, I ain’t certain G
They doubt me currently even with Cole referring me
Well, shit, niggas be hating, it just occurred to me
Niggas be pussy, they looking Kirby pink
That’s why niggas be shooting, but not how Curry be
It’s an emergency, rap need a savior
And I think that I can save it
But look, ain’t no one heard of me
Yea, ain’t no one heard of me
But I’m gon’ be what I deserve to be
Certainly, sure to be, a current king
Case closed like someone murdered me
Then buried me, and couldn’t be found
But it’s evident that I’ll be around for more than a while
Wow this chow run this track for more than a mile
Open your mouth, jaws to the floor
Cause she in shock, I got her begging for more
She just wants the cock, I’m not really sure
That’s why I always call before I ever knock on the door

[Outro]
I got questions
Got a lot of fucking questions dawg
I got questions
Got a motherfucking question dawg
I ask questions [Intro]
What’s a thought, my nigga?

Nino Man – I Hate You (feat. Jadakiss)

[Verse 1]
This is hard work and dedication
Fuck love I like em better hating
Told me wait my turn but I was never patient
This lifestyle is crazy
I need some medication
And that’s the glue of the cookies
If I can’t smoke in your club, don’t try to book me
I toured the world with kiss
I’m not a rookie
I’m in a class by myself
Ya’ll played hooky
They like Nino Man why the fuck you ain’t blow yet
I said I don’t know b
Guess they don’t know yet
But timing is everything
I bet you imma go next
This still the beginning
They ain’t even see the glow yet
But the real show me my love
They say I’m popping
Reason why I know imma make it
Cuz I ain’t stopping
Niggas keep on talking that jazz but I ain’t stopping
Always keep my foot on that gas so I ain’t flopping
Everything I got in life I had to work hard for it
Know I had to drive I just couldn’t find that car door
I was tryna get it, moms wanted me in job core
That’s the main reason why I had to get on my job more
Cut a couple off now I’m funny
I just got tired of having friends cuz I got money
I got tired of having friends cuz of cars and when they need it
It’s fucked up people only your friends when it’s convenient
I want real love, it’s too many that’s pretending
Fuck with me for me not just when you see me winning
But I’m on a wave they say it’s taking forever
Remember one thing, better late than never
[Verse 2]
It’s crazy how your fans will stress you cuz they waiting
Crazier how they know you successful
Your mans hating
But wait, that’s all deception
May believe what they see, that’s all perception
Loyalty is like Wi-fi, poor connection
I just want the lord to bless them
From the seniors to all the freshman
Lox is like the X-Men
To all federal and state corrections
What you better do is take your blessings
Still can’t escape your lessons
Still got to make your weapons
First try then try more
Team player and I ain’t got to have the high score
I was taught to knock off the work
Then buy more
I know it got to hurt to die poor
They say life is what you make of it
The squares in your circle will always fuck up the shape of it
When the hating is blatant just for the sake of it
They try to get the god on some satan shit
Ain’t nothing popping alive
Niggas make it lit
Money is precious, time is sacred
Imma be great forever
Better late than never
Better late than never
Better late than never

Lil Boosie – Heartless Hearts

[Hook]
No one care about this heart of mine
(I feel alone, alone, -lone, -lone, mama)
Why Baton Rouge can’t have no second line
Maybe that will help this heart of mine
[Verse 1]
I got this heartfelt thug shit
Because my heart has been broken and stolen
Busted wide open, close your eyes and picture me rollin’
Looking for haters and narcotics out the same mirror
Watching my back across the track with my main hitter
I need a pat on my back, I need a favor
I just got beef for 400 grand by my man, from the crater
I won’t go dig my nigga casket up, take it down Highland road
Take pictures wit your casket while everybody throwing four
[Hook]
No one care about this heart of mine
(I feel alone, alone, -lone, -lone, mama)
Why Baton Rouge can’t have no second line
Maybe that will help this heart of mine
[Verse 2]
This heart probably can’t be fixed no way
Real talk, it been broken like that
Too many died unexpected times, it was stolen like that
Me and my partner watching, tryna find a mole in the pack
He was an OG, and certified, I ain’t know he a rat
She say she love me why you ain’t love me in Angola like that
You let your hating ass friends put your foot on my back
I miss my friends ’til the end, we be really living like that
Need a second line to bring some memories back (that’s Lil’ Bleek and Lil’ Ivory)

[Hook]
No one care about this heart of mine
(I feel alone, alone, -lone, -lone, mama)
Why Baton Rouge can’t have no second line
Maybe that will help this heart of mine
[Verse 3]
If Finn in the cut dawg, swinging like a mud dawg, biting on his lip with his left hand
Wish I could take him back to basketball, layups with left hand
He lost Lil’ Ivy we both was crying, now he just don’t care man
Billy the kid, they finally got him, gunshot out his left head
Snaked Lil’ Bleek when I was gone, he was my right and left hand
I’m standing strong behind Bleek name, like Finn with his left hand
I just want know who care man, seven eleven hustle with me
Go right back in that struggle with me
Sometimes I feel
Sometimes I feel
[Hook] x 2
No one care about this heart of mine
(I feel alone, alone, -lone, -lone, mama)
Why Baton Rouge can’t have no second line
Maybe that will help this heart of mine
