Juice WRLD – Race Beginning Lyrics

Red light, yellow light, Go
Red light, yellow light, Go
Everybody push to start their engines Red light, yellow light, Go
Red light, yellow light, Go
Everybody push to start their engines
[Instrumental Break]
[Chorus]
The race is beginnin’
Everybody push to start their engines (skrrt)
The race is beginnin’
Everybody push to start their engines
Red light, yellow light, Go! [Chorus]
The race is beginnin’
Everybody push to start their engines (skrrt)
The race is beginnin’
Everybody push to start their engines
Red light, yellow light, Go! Red light, yellow light, Go
Red light, yellow light, Go
Everybody push to start their engines
[Verse 1]
Caught him at the red light, had to leave him dead right
Shoot him in the head, right
We don’t aim for legs, right
Ride around your hood, like my name was lil Red Ride
Out of soda, I’ve been pourin’ up the red wine
Doctor told me that it’s supposed to help unwind
Takin’ them xannies, I’ma fuck around and stop time
[?] I was poppin’ pills in the lunch line
[Chorus]
The race is beginnin’
Everybody push to start their engines (skrrt)
The race is beginnin’
Everybody push to start their engines
Red light, yellow light, Go!

Eric Church – Desperate Man lyrics

I’m a desperate man
I said hey, what can I say? I’m a desperate man
Oh hey, I said hey
I’m just a desperate man
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo)
Grown-ass man
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo) (Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo)
[Verse 1]
I’ve seen the Joshua Tree
Got down on my knees
Threw the Virgin Mother a prayer
I’ve walked glass barefooted
Strolled ‘cross the devil’s hot coal
I’ve tried everything, I swear
[Chorus]
Oh but hey, what can I say? I’m just a desperate man
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo)
[Verse 2]
Fortuneteller told me
“No more last chances
“You got no future at all”
Oh but I ain’t listenin’
To black-hearted gypsy
And a crucifix through a bedroom wall
[Chorus]
Hey, what can I say? I’m a desperate man
I said hey, what can I say? I’m a desperate man
Oh hey, what can I say? I’m just a desperate man
[Outro]
Oh hey, I said hey
Woah, what can I say? I’m just a desperate man
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo-boo-boo-boo)
(Boo boo boo-boo boo boo boo)
[Bridge]
I’m a half-cock, full-tilt, scarred-hands-to-the-hilt
Don’t-push-me grown-ass man
Yeah flashin’ light caution, careful where ya cross son
‘Til she comes back again
[Chorus]
Yeah hey, what can I say?

Lauren Daigle – You Say lyrics

[Verse 1]
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low? Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know
[Chorus]
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
I believe
[Verse 2]
The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, o-ooh
[Chorus]
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
Oh, I believe
[Verse 3]
Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory, o-ooh
[Chorus]
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
I believe
[Outro]
Oh I believe, yes I believe
What You say of me
Oh I believe

Juice WRLD – Numb The Pain Lyrics

You’re to high for this, she took all of my drugs
Now I’m in a trance, off the xans, tryna double my cup
So much for bein’ sober
If we break up, that’s a bad dream, I won’t wake up from
Back to the sadness, and sleepin’ by my lonesome
Wait, it feel like I’m bout to throw up
Sit down, stay awhile, girl don’t say that it’s over
[Chorus]
I’ve been feelin’ needy, this love shit ain’t easy
You’ve been all on my mind, I’ve been barely breathin’
Had a panic attack, I thought you were leavin’
And I thought you, text message turn green
Damnit, had to OD, tryna numb the pain
You was in my hotel room, finna run away
Prolly gonna slit my wrists if I don’t see you every day
I think I’m obsessed, girl there’s gotta be a better way
[Instrumental Break]
Prolly gonna slit my wrists if I don’t see you every day
I think I’m obsessed, girl there’s gotta be a better way [Chorus]
I’ve been feelin’ needy, this love shit ain’t easy
You’ve been all on my mind, I’ve been barely breathin’
Had a panic attack, I thought you were leavin’
And I thought you, text message turn green
Damnit, had to OD, tryna numb the pain
You was in my hotel room, finna run away
Prolly gonna slit my wrists if I don’t see you every day
I think I’m obsessed, girl there’s gotta be a better way
[Verse]
I’m willin’ to die for this shit, suicide love
I’m to high for this shit, doin’ my drugs
If you ever leave, they gon’ find me in a pool of my blood
That should tell you how much I love ya
Would you ever die for this, my suicide love?

Juice WRLD – Outta Pocket Lyrics

[Hook]
I’m high, and I’m nauseous
Oops, I meant obnoxious
These hoes flockin’
These niggas watchin’
Runnin’ outta options’
Gettin’ outta pocket
These hoes watchin’
These niggas flockin’
Runnin’ outta options
Gettin’ outta pocket
These hoes watchin’
These niggas flockin’
Runnin’ outta options
Gettin’ outta pocket
[Verse 1]

Choppa get the beats like Dr. Dre
Drunk off percocets, and [?]
I get high, so I feel numb, so it’s okay
My problems is dead, but I just run away
Xanny my umbrella, for a rainy day
These niggas ain’t straight, look like a parade
Choppa got a gold tip like Flava Flav
Member I ain’t had no gun, I used the razor blade
It was still a drill, when I came around, I feel like Major Pain
Prince up in that double cup, I been sippin’ purple rain
I be throwin’ hands and throwin’ bands, never throwin’ shade
[Hook]
These hoes watchin’
Runnin’ outta options
Gettin’ outta pocket
These hoes watchin’
These niggas flockin’
Runnin’ outta options, yuh, one take gang
[Verse 2]
Runnin’ outta options, I was given too many
I save all my money, I’m not spendin’ a penny
Boy I’m lyin’, I just spent 2 thousand up in Supreme
Over shit I don’t wear, I don’t fuck with them jeans
I still bought em, cause I couldn’t remember when I couldn’t
Wish a nigga would, I never wish a nigga wouldn’t
Run up on me, no he shouldn’t
Oh no, no he shouldn’t
Pull up on him with that choppa, like oh no he didn’t
Pull up on him, with my room, you know that shit was missin’
UFC, he wanna fight, my fist put him in submission
I don’t fuck with pussies, but I still beat up the kitten
He was totin’ a Taurus, nigga I was totin’ a smithon
[Hook]
Watchin, thes hoes watchin’
Runnin’ outta options
Gettin’ outta pocket
These hoes flockin’
These niggas flockin’
Runnin’ outta options
Gettin’ outta pocket
[Verse 3]
Freestyle the whole song, I don’t even care
You unaware that your bitch over here in her underwear
That VVS on my wrist is lookin’ like a Solar Flare
My choppa like a home run, get that nigga outta here
Goin’, goin’, gone
Transform to a car, like Megatron
Fuck yo bitch, I glow up in the dark, I feel like Tron
I choose you, she come and suck my ball like Pokemon
Call of Duty, with that choppa, watch how all my niggas spawn
Cal me Juice Osam, walkin’ and I’m flyer than that bomb
[Outro]
Uh, huh
These hoes flockin’
Runnin’ outta options

Juice WRLD – No More Lyrics

[Hook]
I know the secrets to you baby
You say the drugs, they drive me crazy
I don’t believe a word you say
You’re the one that’s drivin’ me insane
No more getting in my way
No more ruining my day
No more getting in my way
No more ruining my day
[Verse]
I fly high, on planes
Crash down, but I am not afraid
Lost in life, like a maze
I’m so high, I’m amazed
That you were still walkin’ through my brain
Killing me and driving me insane
I don’t know why you won’t go away
You’re just another problem that I face
Speakin’ of face, I can’t feel my
You’ve been away for such a long time
Keep tellin’ myself that it’s alright
Keep tellin’ myself, but it’s all lies
Keep tellin’ myself that it’s alright
Speakin’ of face, I can’t feel my
Speakin’ of face, I can’t feel my
[Hook]
I know the secrets to you baby
You save the drugs, to drive me crazy
I don’t believe a word you say
You’re the one that’s drivin’ me insane
No more getting in my way
No more ruining my day
No more getting in my way
No more ruining my day
[Outro]
No more, no more
No more, no more
No more, no more
No more, no more
No more drving me insane
No more xanny to the brain
No more driving me insane
No more getting in my way
No more, no more
No more, no more
No more, no more
No more, no more
No more driving me insane
No more xanny to the brain
No more driving me insane
No more, no more

Juice WRLD – Slenderman Lyrics

I’m from Never Ever Land
Keep that cannon on my hip like Megaman
You either kill or be killed over here, Afghanistan
I pop a handful of pills, over here won’t feel again
But as long as you stay real over here, you bound to win
[Verse 1]
Uhuh, yeah
Said that shit, I meant it
It’s money over bitches
Uhuh, yeah
You niggas don’t see the difference
That’s why you broke and I’m rich
Because I see the difference
I spend 100k in a month, I don’t got shit to show for it
But I ain’t worried bout shit I know I could always make more
Racks came in, stretch it out the long way
Came a long way, from wearing Choos up in the hallways, yeah
I did it by myself, ain’t had no company
Everybody get they hands out now, Fuck do you want from me? I’m from Never Ever Land
Keep that cannon on my hip like Megaman
You either kill or be killed over here, Afghanistan
I pop a handful of pills, over here won’t feel again
But as long as you stay real over here, you bound to win [Chorus]
I pop up like Slenderman
Gucci boots, I don’t wear no Timberlands
Scooby Doo, bitches they be Meddlin’
Who are you? We were never ever friends
Where I’m from? We were never ever friends
Where I’m from? I’m from Never Ever Land
Keep that cannon on my hip like Megaman
You either kill or be killed over here, Afghanistan
I pop a handful of pills, over here won’t feel again
But as long as you stay real over here, you bound to win
[Instrumental Break]
[Chorus]
I pop up like Slenderman
Gucci boots, I don’t wear no Timberlands
Scooby Doo, bitches they be Meddlin’
Who are you? You want the secret to my sauce, you a wanna be
You will never ever be a boss, employee
[Chorus]
I pop up like Slenderman
Gucci boots, I don’t wear no Timberlands
Scooby Doo, bitches they be Meddlin’
Who are you? We were never ever friends
Where I’m from?

Juice WRLD – Some More Lyrics

[Chorus]
Love don’t love me
Bitch I know
But the drugs still love me
That’s for sure
She fell in love with a junky, gettin’ the dough
Fuck her one time, then show her to the door
Everything she said, I heard it all before
I see all these demons, they disguise as whores
All I know is count the money up from the floor
If the pussy good, I made you go get some more, more
[Verse]
Say she want my heart, she can’t afford it
Maybe cause I’m on my way to getting on the Forbes list
Pretty Jiggy nigga, can’t ignore it
Ballin’ bitch, I feel like Michael Jordan
Sip Codeine, I’m snorin
Til’ the mornin’
Got the heater on my hip, like global warmin’
Run up you get shot, this is a warnin’
Freddy Kruger in your dreams, I’m filled with torment
She say that she love my bitch, whatever that means
I remember her and our friends were laughin’ at me
Now they tell me I can fuck, that shit so funny to me
Lost 10 thousand playin’ basketball, 100 to me

Juice WRLD – Plug Lyrics

[Intro]
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
[Hook]
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
Yeah I met her right in the club
Like a [?], love
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
Put my heart under the rug
Noone got to know
Noone got to know
Heartbreak, heartbreak, just another hole
Cupid keep on knockin’ at my door
[Verse 1]
I’m a let em in
Bad hoes, I’ma let em in, too
Ballin’ hard, like a letterman
You got me intoxicated, all the things that you do
Always had these complications when I’m lovin’ on you
Yeah, I care about your heart, you should to
You be tearin’ me apart, like you do
And I told you from the start, I love you
[Hook]
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
Yeah I met her right in the club
Like a [?], love
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
Put my heart under the rug
Noone got to know
Everybody knows, bitch you gotta go
Cause I said, so
Said, so
[Verse 2]
Laid up in the casket, thought it was your mattress
First we made love, then you made me die
You gave me your heart, and I know that it was plastic. Everything comes back to Lucid Dreams
Next thing you know, you hurt me
I’m just tryna keep it on the lowkey
Pour a cup of Hennessy, my stomach turnin’
Feel it in my chest, straight working
Mix it with a perky, now I’m slurring
I’ma fuck a bad bitch, come from Germany
She be tryna judge a nigga, can’t [?]
[Hook]
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
Yeah I met her right in the club
Like a [?], love
I found out that love was a drug
Now I need to look for a plug
Put my heart under the rug
Noone got to know Fake!

Juice WRLD – Tell Your Friends Lyrics

You look so bright (bling, bling)
The VVS on my wrist, so ice (bling, bling)
But somethin’ in my chest don’t feel right
Somethin’ in my chest don’t feel too good
Thought I left my heartbreak in my old hood
Ex bitch in my phone, up to no good
Ole gold diggin’ bitch you know you ain’t gettin’ no goods
I ain’t really feelin’ too good
The pills make me feel too good
I know you want me no more
So I put my heart on the floor
I’ma have a party tonight, go tell your friends bitch
You ain’t gettin’ money, then you ain’t gettin’ in bitch
[Chorus]
I’ma have a party tonight, go tell your friends bitch
You ain’t gettin’ money, then you ain’t gettin’ in bitch
Leave the heartbreak, at the crib bitch
Come to L.A., I can show you how I live bitch
Bet I get Wetter Wet, like a cruise ship
She been flexin’ hard on my name, Terry Crews shit
No more parties in L.A., Kanye West shit
She do Codeine with Cocaine, that’s the best shit [Chorus]
I’ma have a party tonight, go tell your friends bitch
You ain’t gettin’ money, then you ain’t gettin’ in bitch
Leave the heartbreak, at the crib bitch
Come to L.A., I can show you how I live bitch
Bet I get Wetter Wet, like a cruise ship
She been flexin’ hard on my name, Terry Crews shit
No more parties in L.A., Kanye West shit
She do Codeine with Cocaine, that’s the best shit
[Verse]
Think I found the love of my life (Where she at?)
In a bottle, in a bottle
Codeine up in my Sprite
Baby bottle, baby bottle
I’m lookin’ at my future like, Hi, Hey!

Juice WRLD – Taskforce Lyrics

[Chorus]
Take off, fast four
In a black Porsche
Whippin’ all the white, even though I’m a black boy
Tay Cruz, flexin’ on your crew, steroids
She lookin’ at us, like I love them boys
Take off, fast four
In a black Porsche
Whippin’ all the white, even though I’m a black boy
Tay Cruz, flexin’ on your crew, steroids
Lookin’ at us, like damn I love them boys
[Verse 1]
Pull up Taskforce, in a four door
Choppa on my hip, it’s heatin’ up like human torch
If I catch him I’ma score, wait
Hit the floor
Then I take his whore, in that order
Bought a bunch of Gucci frames, that cost about a quarter
25k not 25 cents bitch, oh yeah
Big gun make a nigga walk with a limp bitch, oh yeah
I still wear bathin’ ape, no chimp bitch, oh yeah
Everyday I poor, lean
Need some more
Broke niggas, askin’ the cost I tell em a quarter
25, no not 25 cents bitch, oh yeah
25 Pints cost 25 bricks bitch, oh yeah
[Chorus]
Take off, fast four
In a black Porsche
Whippin’ all the white, even though I’m a black boy
Tay Cruz, flexin’ on your crew, steroids
She lookin’ at us, like I love them boys
Take off, fast four
In a black Porsche
Whippin’ all the white, even though I’m a black boy
Tay Cruz, flexin’ on your crew, steroids
Lookin’ at us, like damn I love them boys
[Verse 2]
Need a beautiful girl, No Sean Kingston
Life of a lonely boy, all these hoes tweakin’
She gon’ suck me in the back of the Porsche, then she leavin’
Hit her pussy good, I’m a hit then repeat
Hit it 3 times, call the shit 3-Peat
I’ve been xan free, almost been 3 weeks
Still on beans, still on percs, still on Codeine
She say coke, ain’t a joke
She get nose bleeds
She finna OD, Don’t call the police
Pray the drugs don’t take her home, yeah
Say that she ok, but she not ok
Molly takin’ over her soul
Another love goes down the drain, where it belongs
Another love goes, where the drugs go
[Chorus]
Take off, fast four
In a black Porsche
Whippin’ all the white, even though I’m a black boy
Tay Cruz, flexin’ on your crew, steroids
She lookin’ at us, like I love them boys
Take off, fast four
In a black Porsche
Whippin’ all the white, even though I’m a black boy
Tay Cruz, flexin’ on your crew, steroids
Lookin’ at us, like damn I love them boys

“I don’t want to speak ill of my hometown because I still love to come back … but it was hard,” they said.”I was bullied horrendously in primary school and quite a bit of high school — I think everyone had the perception I was gay.” It was issues like this that led Thomas to eventually leave Shepparton to live in Melbourne.”I wouldn’t have been able to tough it out, I couldn’t have,” they said. But it was this difficult period that helped shape the message behind Thomas’s advocacy work.”It’s a hard thing — you don’t want your story to always be sad,” they said.If there is a message that they hope was communicated through their work, Thomas said it was “to the LGBTIQA+ community, in Australia and across the world, you are loved and so important”. The network has around 100 members in every state of the Commonwealth and operates on five areas of work: gender and governance; sexual reproductive health and rights, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics (SOGIGESC); early, forced and child marriage; and youth transitions in education, employment and enterprise. It was tragedy that sparked Thomas’s advocacy work following the death of a dear friend. Thomas said that while Australia is on the right track, it still has a long way to go in ensuring equality for all.”Marriage equality was a big win, but there’s still a lot that needs to be done.”A lot of us in Australia are still recovering from the [same-sex marriage] survey and we need you to keep standing with us.”The next stepThomas will be back in Melbourne at the end of the month.Currently travelling around Europe, promoting equality for the gay and trans community, the activist is due to speak at a side event for the International Planned Parenthood Federation in Amsterdam.”I’m looking at pursuing new opportunities overseas in the human rights field,” Thomas said.”But until then, I’ll be focusing on my research, supporting my mentees and my community, dancing in drag, and celebrating.” “I had a subsequent breakdown after that,” they said.”I started to do a bit more research and realised how disproportionately high the [suicide] statistics are for the [LGBTIQA+] community.”There is a lot of hate that goes on in our community across the world.”Rubbing shoulders with the Royal FamilyThomas had previously also met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in London in April. In 2016, Thomas also received the Queen’s Young Leader Award from the Queen herself, for the activist’s work with organisations trying to prevent suicide and advocating for access to primary health care for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community.Thomas does not underestimate the importance of discussing one’s cause with members of the Royal family.”People pay attention to the Royal Family, so it helps get our work out there and makes the issues we work on more visible,” they said.”It helps to have high level allies on your side when you’re working on tough matters.”Growing up in regional Australia

Thomas grew up in Shepparton in northern Victoria and said that growing up as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community in a regional Australian area was not always easy. “Your existence is an act of rebellion against hate and a promotion of kindness.”You’re incredibly powerful and you’re incredibly strong — you deserve your visibility, you deserve your dignity.”If I can do it, then heck maybe you can too!”

Thomas was recently appointed Commonwealth Youth Gender and Equality Network Coordinator. “On this very particular day when the photo was taken, there were 100 young people from all 53 states of the Commonwealth, all coming together to basically plan what the Commonwealth is going to look like to young people in 2040,” they said.”When the Duchess came over, she walked up and just goes, ‘Hello, old friend, how are you?'” Thomas said. Australian LGBTIQA+ activist Jacob Thomas made headlines earlier this year after being photographed laughing with members of the Commonwealth Youth Council — including Meghan, Duchess of Sussex — while sporting a jacket made in the colours of the trans pride flag.Thomas identifies as a gender non-binary person and uses the pronoun “they” — and it was their passion for creating a more accepting and fairer future for the LGBTIQA+ community that attracted the attention of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Thomas’s work is focused on reducing suicide rates of young people who identify as LGBTIQA+ and addressing issues of gender equality, youth participation and education among the community.”What I’m advocating for is human dignity and respect,” they said.”Australia is constantly seen as a beacon of excellence in the world, particularly the Commonwealth — people look to us.

Robinvale councillor John Katis says he is proud to represent the town because of its diversity. They change to our way of life and they seem to be freer in the way they express themselves and the way they live.”Many languages, one band of musiciansWith a mix of cultures, Robinvale boasts a diversity of people that Mr Katis said he was proud to represent. But fitting in hasn’t always been easy for the locals. Diversity and multiculturalism have become a rich source of pride for the Murray River town of Robinvale. (Back Roads: Ron Ekkel)
While the region is best-known for its agricultural industries, the local music groups and sporting clubs are another form of social inclusion for the locals to connect with one another.Siua Taumefolau is a liaison officer with the local college and teaches music to bring people together. The program provides alternative options to labour in the field, where Mr Taumefolau has helped inspire youth to become role models for each other.”Just talk to the kids about their future and [tell them to] keep working hard at school to try and do something different from when we first came here, which was hard labour,” Mr Taumefolau said.”Music is the only one language we all speak.”I feel we can do everything in a different way but with music you get the same feeling and enjoying — doesn’t matter what culture you are — music is the one language.”

John Katis says Robinvale citizenship ceremonies remind him of when he arrived in Australia. Nowadays you meet different cultures, you talk about different ways of life, they bring different foods. After living here for so long, it just grows on you,” Mr Katis told ABC TV’s Back Roads program.”I think it’s the people that make it stand out.”It’s the people that live here, and the new ones. She meets communities whose good humour and inventiveness will inspire and uplift. Robinvale is known throughout the world,” he said.”I went to Greece and I went to Israel and right down to the Dead Sea and everyone knows Robinvale because we have so much diversity from here that goes out there.”I’ve lived here for 60-odd years and it has changed a lot. (Back Roads: Ron Ekkel)
The north-west Victorian town claims to be one of the most multicultural communities in Australia. The town has a fluctuating population of about 3,000 residents depending on seasonal workers, but there is a large mix of English, Italian, Tongan, Vietnamese, Indigenous Australian, Malaysian and other residents who account for more than 30 languages spoken in the community.Councillor John Katis has lived in Robinvale for more than 60 years after migrating from Greece about halfway through last century.”It’s fantastic. (Back Roads: Ron Ekkel)
Putting Robinvale on the mapBringing the people together to become Australian citizens is just normal practice for Mr Katis, who is also the master of citizenship ceremonies in the town.He said formally welcoming the new citizens was important because they were the same kind of people that travelled to Australia in his earlier years.

“This is an ongoing program,” Mr Bell said. “Next April we’ll have another group from Canberra and Melbourne as we did this year, and these guys are already looking to next year.”We have six host families [for this trip], but the people of the Bega Valley are so generous, I’ve got 26 on my database.”It is hoped that the schoolchildren can also meet more people their own age next year.”We hope to run it again in September next year,” Ms Enders said.”Next year we’re going to coordinate with a school down here so that on the last day of the school term we’ll actually take them into some of the schools down here as well.”Bassam Paulis is excited that more families like his will benefit from the program.”I don’t know how we can give back to them but I hope that they can continue what they’re doing because it’s amazing and it’s very, very important to people like us.”

Or some beautiful native birds. That was the experience of a group of 35 new arrivals from Iraq, who live in western Sydney, when they made their first trip out of Smithfield to the south east of New South Wales. For 14-year-old Maryam Salim, who came to Australia about a year ago, the excitement started on the drive down.”When we were on the bus coming here, someone said ‘Oh look there’s a kangaroo there,’ and then we saw the kangaroos for the first time,” she said.”I saw the joey, it was so cute.”Making up the group of 35 new arrivals were six children from Smithfield Public School who were chosen to make the trip, along with their families, based on their good attendance record and involvement in the school community. The visit to the Bega Valley was organised by Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast.Secretary Gavin Bell said that the aim of the visit was to give the new arrivals a weekend that was both fun and informative.”People say ‘why do you do it?’ and it’s the joy we get from doing this for the weekend,” he said.”These families have had so many hurdles to jump through to get here to live in Sydney that we feel if we can give them a weekend, just to come and let their hair down… why wouldn’t you do it?”The families chosen all have children attending Smithfield Public School in western Sydney where Julia Enders, who helped organise the trip, is a parent. She said she hoped the visit to the region would help locals foster a greater understanding of the challenges that new arrivals and refugees can face.”The biggest thing is understanding that these people are happy to be here,” Ms Enders said.”They’re lovely, welcoming, happy people that have escaped hardship and are looking for a new future, for them and their kids.””I’d like to think it spreads right through the Bega Valley as far as people’s knowledge of why we’re doing it … but for the families involved it gives them a taste of what a refugee looks like,” Mr Bell said.”We just want to show people you don’t just have to get up in the morning, work and go to bed at night — there’s a bigger world out there that we need to discover and it’s so enriching for the people who get involved.”Plans to continue visitsThis is the third visit to the region so far this year that has been run by the Social Justice Advocates group. The group spent the weekend getting a taste of coastal and regional life outside of the city as they stayed with host families in the Bega Valley and visited local sights including the Killer Whale Museum, Marine Rescue and the Marine Discovery Centre in Eden, a bird park at Tathra and a dairy farm. Bassam Paulis, who came to Australia two years ago with his wife and two children, now 10 and seven, was also excited to see his first macropod.”We went to a golf club, we were very close to the kangaroos, like two metres,” Mr Paulis said.”We took lots of photos with the kids, we saw them eating and scratching.”His children enjoyed learning about native Australian animals.”They’re enjoying it, they see the animals, they got some information about the nature and the bush and also we did a smoke [ceremony] celebrating for Aboriginals,” Mr Paulis said.More than cute animal sightings
