Florence And The Machine – No Light No Light lyrics

But, it’s a conversation,
I just can’t have tonight. You want a revelation
Some kind of resolution
Tell me what you want me to say You are the revelation. You want a revelation
You want to get right. You are the hole in my head
You are the space in my bed
You are the silence in between
What I thought and what I said
You are the night-time fear
You are the morning when it’s clear
When it’s over your start
You’re my head
You’re my heart
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can’t choose what stays and what fades away
And I’d do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say
Through the crowd I was
Crying out and
In your place there were a thousand other faces
I was disappearing in plain sight
Heaven help me
I need to make it right
You want a revelation
You want to get right
But it’s a conversation
I just can’t have tonight
You want a revelation
Some kind of resolution
You are the revelation
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can’t choose what stays and what fades away
And I’d do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say
But would you leave me,
If I told you what I’ve done
And would you leave me
If I told you what I’ve become
‘Cause it’s so easy,
To sing it to a crowd
But it’s so hard, my love
To say it to you, all alone
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day,
You can choose what stays and what fades away
And I’d do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say
You want a revelation
You want to get right
But, it’s a conversation
I just can’t have tonight
You want a revelation
Some kind of resolution.

Lady Gaga – Dope lyrics

[Verse 1]
It’s off, it’s on
The party’s just begun
I promise this
This drink is my last one
I know that I fucked up again
Because I lost my only friend
God forgive my sins
Don’t leave me, I
Oh I will hate myself until I die
[Chorus]
My heart would break without you
Might not awake without you
Been hurting low, from living high for so long
I’m sorry, and I love you
Sing with me, “Bell Bottom Blue”
I’ll keep searching for an answer cause I need you more than dope
[Post-Chorus]
I need you more than dope
Need you more than dope
Need you more than dope
I need you more than dope
[Verse 2]
Toast one last puff
And two last regrets
Three spirits and
Twelve lonely steps
Up heaven’s stairway to gold
Mine myself like coal
A mountain of a soul
Each day, I cry
Oh, I feel so low from living high
[Chorus]
My heart would break without you
Might not awake without you
Been hurting low, from living high for so long
I’m sorry, and I love you
Sing with me, “Bell Bottom Blue”
I’ll keep searching for an answer cause I need you more than dope
[Post-Chorus]
I need you more than dope
Need you more than dope
Need you more than dope
I need you more than dope
I need you more
Need you more
I need you more than dope

JoJo – Good Thing. (Demo) Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I don’t know nobody who gets me up the way you do
I don’t need no pill with what you do to me
Oh baby that’s the way I feel
Like a million dollar bill
See it on my face that we’re in ecstasy
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, you’re an escape from everything I’ve ever known
Oh, I feel you close you give me something to call my own
[Chorus]
You give me that good thing
Nobody can compare
You give me that good thing
Only you take me there
You give me that good thing
Can’t nobody do it better
I know you’re the real thing, good thing
You give me that good thing
Nobody can compare
You give me that good thing
Only you take me there
You give me that good thing
Can’t nobody do it better
I know you’re the real thing, good thing
[Verse 2]
See, I don’t know nobody who gets me up the way you do
You’re the perfect high I don’t wanna come down
I don’t need no good advice telling me what’s wrong or right
There’s no explanation for the love we’ve found
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, you’re an escape from everything I’ve ever known
Oh, I feel you close you give me something to call my own
[Chorus]
You give me that good thing

[Bridge]
Oh, there’s a riot in me ready to explode
This attraction’s deeper than they’ll ever know
You give me that, you give me that, oh
Flashing lights already got me in the zone
It’s a feeling that I never wanna go
You give me that good hit, that real shit
No counterfeit, that good thing

JoJo – Say Love (Demo) Lyrics

[Verse 1]
This is us at our best, and at our worst
And when we speak, does it feel unrehearsed? [Refrain]
Cause where I wanna be is far apart
From where we are, from where we are
And I thought I found the place where we could start
Talk from the heart, talk from the heart
[Pre-Chorus]
But you just say I’m perfect
Say I’m pretty
Say I’m worth it
But if you really care for me
[Chorus]
Say love
I want you to say love
I want you to say love
When I say “love you”
You just say “me too”
But I want you to say love
[Verse 2]
It feels like we can’t get out of first
When we do it’s like we’re stuck in reverse, oh
[Refrain]
Cause where I wanna be is far apart
From where we are, from where we are
And I thought I found the place where we could start
Talk from the heart, talk from the heart

Principal driving students to success — and school — in isolated outback town

Miss Stanley is set to marry her fiancé Jack Neilson, a third generation local cattle farmer, next year.He works three jobs, so to spend more time together the pair spent the Easter holidays this year driving a roller on a road crew and sleeping under the stars. Her loyalty to the community and the school is evident as she speaks, as is her love for her job. He can’t read or write, and even to this day he struggles in life,” she said.”Dad is Aboriginal and he only went to school until he was in grade five but even then, he was a little bit mischievous at school, so was never really in the school room.”The teachers back in those days would send him outside and he would go help the groundsman.”I find him inspirational so that’s why I became a teacher, because if I can help someone read and write, I think that’s really important.”

Krystal Stanley enjoys being part of children’s lives as they grow and work their way through primary school. A dynamic young school principal in outback Queensland has a novel approach to ensuring her students turn up to classes.Krystal Stanley, 28, is principal of Boulia State School where 41 children between kindergarten and year six are currently enrolled. She picks them up each morning in a small bus donated by the local council.”Attendance is one of our key initiatives and key priorities that we continually work on,” Miss Stanley said.”It changes by season and by term and you’ve got to be on top of your game, you’ve got to be keeping two steps ahead, so to speak.”Isolation means leaving home for high schoolGetting the kids to school and keeping them there is one of the school’s biggest challenges, especially given that once they reach year six, some consider dropping out all together. The closest high school is 300 kilometres away in Mount Isa and in order to continue their education, students have just two options. “If I can be someone consistent in a child’s life and watch them grow and aspire to be whatever they want to be in life, that’s definitely my aim,” she said.”We are a busy little school, but we’re very proud.” (Facebook: Boulia State School)
They can attend Mount Isa School of the Air or, for greater opportunities, children must leave their families to attend boarding schools in Mount Isa, Ingham, Charters Towers, or Barcaldine. It does increase the risk of some kids quitting, so Miss Stanley and the school, supported by the community, have a few strategies in place. One is the Taste of Secondary School project where staff begin conversations with parents and students in term one of year six about life after Boulia State School.”We know it’s a scary process of going from a small country town like Boulia, which is their home, their whole life, and going to the city, living away from mum and dad,” Miss Stanley said.Inspired by father’s own struggleMiss Stanley, who was brought up by her truck driver dad from age 12, said she saw the challenges of literacy he faced every day.”My dad is the reason I became a teacher. (Facebook: Boulia State School)
Reviewers find school ‘exceptional’ This week, two officers from the School Improvement Unit in Brisbane have been at the school undertaking an internal review. What else is on at Boulia school?Leadership programLibrary lessons at council libraryHomework clubGarden club in school garden with chooks and orchard and bush kitchenBilbies playgroupHealthy breakfast and nutrition program
“I don’t really like to blow my own trumpet, but [the officers] have said that the amount of learning opportunities, the wellbeing of staff, community, and students is exceptional,” she said.”I’m very proud to be the driver but I’m definitely not the only person who works hard and goes the extra mile.”I’ve got a fantastic team under me so I do have to give credit to them [and] I have an amazing community who support me, so it makes my job easier.”Watching children growRebecka Britton, a mother of four children at the school, said Miss Stanley promoted collaboration in Boulia.”Krystal is determined and driven and passionate in her role at the school and within the community,” Ms Britton said.”She’s extremely supportive, she is an above brilliant teacher and there are no obstacles outside her scope of achievement.”

Miss Stanley faced her own trials in becoming a teacher after leaving school at 15 and moving to Toowoomba with her then-boyfriend before coming home to Winton to complete years 11 and 12.”High school wasn’t easy for me,” she said.I had to work hard as I wasn’t book smart, but my dad taught me to work hard and I could achieve anything in life.”I had to work my bottom off to get good OP [and] was successful in obtaining the Pearl Duncan Scholarship to attend uni, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have gone.”‘Good morning Miss Stanley’As part of the school’s attendance strategy, every weekday morning, Miss Stanley climbs aboard the bus and drives her route around the town, picking up her students. Photo:
All students at Boulia State School received a ‘Because Of Her We Can’ shirt during NAIDOC Week this year. (Facebook: Boulia State School )
“Everything in Boulia is only a hop, skip, and a jump, but in terms two and three, when it’s a lot colder, we noticed a big decrease in attendance,” she said.”The initiative was to get that ball rolling, be consistent with it to help in the terms when we notice the kids weren’t coming to school.”And to be honest, attendance has improved with the bus but also, the social formality of catching a bus.”The kids have to know time management, they have to know what time to be ready, waiting on the footpath for me, they have to know road safety rules so they know not to wait on the road but up on the kerb.”And when they get on the bus, they always say ‘good morning Miss Stanley’ and we have a little saying to ensure they put their seat belts on: ‘Click, clack, front and back, so you don’t give your head a whack’, and off we go.”

(ABC Mildura – Swan Hill: Kellie Hollingworth)
Construction of the fence will start in November and it is expected the mammals will start being introduced to the site in August 2019.”The fence is 1.8 metres tall and is made up of three sections of wire — a floppy top and a base that curves around under the ground on both sides,” Dr Kavanagh said.”There are two electric wires to help scare animals away, who try and climb up the fence.”

Currently AWC staff are busy assessing what kind of effects there could be on other flora and fauna in the area once the fence is built.”We have a very extensive program called eco-health monitoring assessments,” Dr Kavanagh said.”These are [conducted] inside and outside the fence, where we’re measuring the number of birds, bats, mammals, reptiles and plants in fixed plots so we can see what the impact of excluding these predators is — not only on the reintroduced mammals, but also on a whole range of threatened flora.”A similar fence has already been assessed and approved in Pilliga National Park, west of Tamworth. The Pilliga fence covers 5,800 hectares and five mammals will start being introduced to the site in November.Animals to be relocated from various sitesThe Australian Wildlife Conservancy will source some of the mammals from its own sanctuaries that are scattered around Australia. “In our Scotia reserve between Mildura and Broken Hill for example, we have more than 80 per cent of the Australian population of bridled nailtail wallaby,” Dr Kavanagh said.Other state governments and territories will allow the mammals to be relocated from offshore islands, where they are currently safe from predators but in small numbers.Dr Kavanagh said accommodation would be built at Mallee Cliffs National Park as part of this project. Photo:
Mallee Cliffs National Park, in south-west NSW, will be home to a sanctuary for animals which have been extinct the state for more than a century. Ten native mammals that have been extinct in New South Wales for more than a century will be introduced to a national nark in the state’s south-west.The rewilding project, a partnership between the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) and the State Government, is at Mallee Cliffs National Park, on the NSW side of the border near Mildura.A 36-kilometre fence will give the bridled nailtail wallaby, brush-tailed bettong, burrowing bettong, greater bilby, greater stick-nest rat, Mitchell’s hopping mouse, numbat, red-tailed phascogale, western barred bandicoot and western quoll a 9,600-hectare haven that is free from predators.AWC’s NSW ecologist Rod Kavanagh said the conservation fence would be built to protect the animals from foxes and feral cats.”We’ve been able to develop this idea of conservation fences in other parts of Australia, so once we kill these foxes and cats, they don’t come back, and the endangered species that live in this area have a chance to come back,” Dr Kavanagh said. (Supplied: Australian Wildlife Conservancy)
The conservancy would like to release the mammals outside fences but Dr Kavanagh said conditions needed to be right.”The fence serves a bit like an ark, giving these species some chance to continuing so they don’t disappear off the planet,” he said.Outside the fence predators can be controlled to an extent but they will never be eliminated entirely. The conservancy and CSIRO are investigating whether gene drive technology could control the feral cats, which are a threat to the reintroduced species.”The gene drive technology we’re considering at the moment is where mating would occur, but only male offspring would eventuate,” Dr Kavanagh said.”So in a very harmless way, the number of animals will eventually reduce.” Staff will be required to continually check the fence for breaches.”To make this program successful, the fence has to have integrity, it can’t be threatened by animals burrowing underneath it, by trees falling on top of it,” he said.”These animals are worth millions — they are crucial — they represent some of the last remaining animals left of this species alive.”Staff will also be responsible for other aspects of land management, and scientists will run eco-health and other associated research programs.Releasing animals outside the fence

A 14-year-old girl grieving the recent loss of her mother has been sent “a hug from heaven” after pop star Pink pulled her out of the crowd for a hug, selfie, and motivational chat at one of her concerts this week.Leah Murphy flew from north Queensland to Brisbane with friends and family to attend one of Pink’s performances. Her mother Debbie, who passed away in June, had tickets to attend one of Pink’s Australian shows.Pink and her music was one of the many bonds Leah shared with her mother, so her aunt, Katrina Donkin, endeavoured to set up a special moment between the two at Monday’s show.During the concert on Monday, Ms Donkin, Leah and friends held up signs hoping to grab the singer’s attention during the concert.”It read, ‘Hi, my name’s Leah. We’re going to get you the hug’,” Ms Donkin said.”We ended up at the front row and Pink just held her for … it felt like 20 seconds.”And Leah’s only 14, she’s a teeny-tiny little thing and she just sobbed uncontrollably in her arms.”Pink was just so genuine, she said, ‘hey, don’t cry, everything’s going to be okay’.
